Jellyfish Syndrome - "Monkey Say, Monkey Do" (Demo 2003, Sweden)

Uploaded to Aural Innovations: October 2003

This is the first two song demo by this new Swedish band. The web site describes them as sexually frustrated sonic fuzz ass rock. "Haemoglobin" opens the demo and has some very psychedelic fuzzed out delay vocals underneath a piledriver riff. Dual guitars, bass, drums and vocals provide the stoner rock vibe here. This opening song is quite a mix. It starts off great but the band seems to loose it in the middle but comes back to the power at the end again. "Cinnamon Song" has a pretty cool riff and groove again with fuzzed out vocals. I think the band have some good ideas and are quite young and will find their own place in the field. Keep up the psychy parts! At least they don’t sound like Kyuss or QOTSA like so many bands.
