Flamongo Sanomat - "Emme varasta lapsia meillä on nittä tarpeeksi"
(Flamongo Records FLAM OLPA, LP)
Uploaded to Aural Innovations: July 2004
This is special Helsinki compilation record. The artwork and liner notes on both sides of the sleeve are completely in Finnish and contain a lot of strange pictures and stories. You can at least figure out what bands are on the release. The record has a huge range of stuff from reggae to drum and bass to rock. Ercola ja Dj PP begins the LP with the Flamongo Anthem, a chill out electronic song with a nice groove. Musa Basha’s Pakaraboogie and Uusi Fantasia’s Faija are both electronic songs as well with the later featuring some female vocals. Jah Mullet ja Bible Bible Dope Version is some really single man cheesy reggae. The side ends with The Elevators, Burn the World, which is a short jazz piece that sounds like it was recorded 40 years ago! Side B begins with Rättö ja Lehtisalo’s Valonnopeus. Rättö is best known as the singer for Circle and Moon Fog Prophet. This track is one of the best from his solo record from last year. Future Warriors perform Amano, a killer Afrobeat inspired track and the best one on this LP. Ercola plays a freaky disco-dance track but features a nice sax solo. Tuomo Ilari Puranen produce a spacey electronic song to end the record. A mixture of all sorts of stuff. A strange sample of Finland.
