This is the first time I ever heard of Honky but they are lead by a former guitarist for the Butthole Surfers so don't expect the norm here. The band were helped out by Big Sugar guitarist, Geordie Johnson (he even makes a few guest appearances on slide and acoustic guitars). His influence is heard for sure. The opening track, Love To Smoke Your Weed, shows the band want to have some fun. All the songs are short here with only one breaking 4 minutes. There is some great guitar playing and some stand out songs for sure. If you like your rock Texas style with a bit of nastiness throw in, this is worth checking out. Good choice, Small Stone.
