Dali’s Llama - Full on Dunes
(Dali’s Llama Records)

From Aural Innovations January 2009 update

I reviewed these guys last record and that was pretty cool but I think I like this one even better! This was recorded and produced by Scott Reeder (Kyuss, Goatsnake) at his studios. It also features some other desert rockers as guests. The CD starts off with a desert riff rocker. These guys really can get the killer grooves down. Can’t catch me features some cool guitar by Mario Lalli and also has Scott on bass. King Platypus is head down the road driving music. Desert Dogs features Mario and Joe Dillon. Nice crunchy guitar riff. Cheap and Portable is an acoustic blues thing with Joe on lapsteel. Smoke Tree is quite a short track. Cool lyrics. Floating features Scott kicking in a bass solo in this slow groovy track. This is probably the most melodic track but a killer guitar riff, although you heard this one before. Full On is back to the grooves that these guys lay down so smoothly. Aqua –Fuzz features Joe and Sean Wheeler and ends this CD. Although it is not new stuff, the sound and the songs are just great so I dig it, Anyway, 9 tracks in 34 minutes, so a little too short if you ask me for a full price CD. Great stuff.
