I have to say this is one of the surprise releases of the year for sure. Who would have thought that this Japanese band who disbanded in the late 70’s would have a new record 30 years later. Just a warning up front, this is not at all like the old stuff. The singer has been doing reggae for some years and this is clearly heard in his new singing style and some of the music. I actually quite like the first 3-4 songs but then the record is just a bit boring. These first songs are quite cool and the band has their own rock-roots-style. Hard to compare to another band but it is just not that exciting music. You can hear in the playing of the drummer and guitarist these guys are a bit rusty. Anyway... quite cool and I would love to see them live if half the set would be the old stuff. Let’s hope they come to Europe for a few shows.
