Aluna is a UK psychedelic DOOM band and this is their debut EP. It features 3 tracks in 17 minutes. Spend my Time starts the CD and is pretty basic melodic doom with female vocals. The obvious comparison is Blood Ceremony from Canada. Son et Luminaire starts with a heavy bass line and then the drums come it followed by the guitar riff, very slow, tuned down and heavy. It stays pretty sludgy until the end, which gets a groove going but for far too short a time and then it dies, rather than jamming out. Show me How ends this EP. It is a bit faster with a steady doomy groove. I just don’t get into the female vocal much. Too me she does not have that much personality, perhaps it is just too laid back and stoney. Anyway. check them out if you like Doomy stuff with female vocals.
