Beehover is a quite special German band. This is the bands 3rd release. I
saw part of their powerful show at Roadburn and was quite transfixed. I did
not really know what to expect from the CD, which is only a drummer and a guitarist,
with no bass player but playing really balls out stoner rock. Anyway, this CD
is pretty damn cool. They write really interesting songs and I totally got sucked
in despite being very sceptical. It is heavy, groovy, has amazing drumming and
just keeps evolving. It has elements of Spirit Caravan (the groovy part), Melvins
for heavy stuff and a bit of Primus for the drums and strange changes. Overall,
a pretty damn awesome adventure considering there is no bass, no guitar solos.
