Glowsun are a French band from Lille, near the Belgium border. This is their debut full length CD, having released one EP back in 2005. This 3 piece band lay down 9 tracks in 44 minutes and it starts off with Virus and a lot of effects before the band gets down to business with some heavy stoner riffing and cool grooves. This will remind you some of the Swedish stoner bands but the singer and guitarist Jacob, lays down some cool spacey guitar and effects and some hot lead guitar as well. That is what has really sucked me into the record as the band have so many cool parts in different tracks and while they get down to rocking, riffing and grooving hard, they find that perfect space to build and create. I think this is one fucking cool band. Hope to see them live. I really think I may have seen Jacob at Roadburn??? He just looks familiar. Anyway, highly recommend this new addition to the European stoner scene.
