I/D - Midnight Hot
(Flux Us)
From Aural Innovations October 2009 update
I/D describe themselves as a noise rock super collective and are based in Singapore. They are not really that noisy but they play free form instrumental
rock songs with like two guitars, bass, drums and noises. One guitar player is a real freak with loads of effects and intense while the other guy play
all these melodic clean guitar lines, funky riffs, etc. It is a strange but actually cool mix of stuff. The last track actually has some parts where they
sound like they are playing in different rooms and can’t hear each other as the drummer is very intense and at all connected to what the others are
doing. Interesting stuff. I want to hear more. Here is how the band describes themselves, " Midnight Hot is a trip deep into the hard of darkness (or
is that the dark of harness), subliminally invoking the spirits of Krautrock greats like Can, Neu!, Cosmic Jokers, postpunk genuises Public Image Limited
and electric Miles Davis. 100% improvised sounds given the Teo Macero-Lee Perry production treatment.". Check them out.
