Novadrive - Faster than Light Promo

Novadrive is a new spacemetal band from England. I received this promo CD as a gift during the gift exchange at Hawkwind’s recent 40th Anniversary concerts in London. David Ling, writer for Classic Rock magazine was right behind us and refused a gift (what an asshole). Anyway, this is a taster for their release later this year called Made in Space. The band is a three piece of guitar, bass, violin with all programmed drums and synths. Faster than Light is a 7 minute long track and pretty cool. It starts with some space ship starting up like sounds before the programmed drums kick in and a 80’s style Hawkwind guitar riff starts up. It is a very good melodic rock track. A sleep of one thousand years is a very cool slow instrumental spacey track with some awesome spaced out violin playing. My only complaint on this is I don’t really care at all for the sound production. It is clear but just lacks a dynamic sound.
