RFLC - The heart of the Music Box
(Black Note Music)

From Aural Innovations October 2009 update

This is a CD that I am not so sure works out that well without some visuals to accompany it. The CD is a little more than an hour of quite experimental atmospheres and soundscapes that were created at a special RFCL Music Box performance art piece in San Francisco, that was interactive with the people who came into the gallery who would then become part of the musical soundscape by effecting the multiple microphones and drones, etc. I once went to something like this back at MIT in the mid 90’s and it was pretty cool with interesting visuals and stuff, and although you can create this music in your own mind, it would or should have been combined with visuals as it is can be pretty boring some of this stuff. I admit it is a very cool experiment in sound and they have done some expert manipulations and mixing too
