Sula Bassana - Silent Music (Sulatron stcdr 007)

From Aural Innovations April 2010 update

This is the latest Sula Bassana solo CD-r. If you were fans of his Endless Winter CD-R then you will like this one as well. The opening track is amazing and features some really cool psychedelic delay guitar playing on top of a slow spacey mellow background. The CD features 6 tracks in 57 minutes recorded between 1999 and 2009, including one recorded in Trondheim, Norway in a Lar’s living room! Sunrise begins with some backwards guitar layering in the bass, synth like voice, and some nice slow spacey guitar. Beautiful spacey melody on this one as well. Dave is in love again! Endless Moment changes the mood and is more padded synth voices with layered guitar that slowly drift in and out. Quite wonderful and spaced out stuff that would be great with a video to go along. Lost also features some very nice guitar and synths. Lost which begins with piano, slowly played and allowed to reverberate. It continues as a solo piano piece and really caught me by surprise. Beautiful moving stuff. Silent Music is a slowly strummed guitar piece. Nice mellow way to end the night.
