Magnified Eye - "Last Sun" (Denmark 2002)

Magnified Eye are the only other band in Denmark (besides Gas Giant), who play music that is considered Stoner Rock. The band are from Århus and really go for the big Kyuss style riffs. Torben, the leader, guitarist and vocalist puts all his heart and soul into these songs and you can really tell. The CD is going to be released this year (hopefully by Daredevil Records in Germany). The CD starts off with On The Edge Of A Stone. A very heavy song with some great riffing and powerful vocals. Keep Distance is next and the bands tribute to TOOL and quite a good one as well. Last Sun is a great song with some very cool harmonica playing that fits great with the heavy groove of the song. Alcoholic Haze has a very slow groove and nice spacey guitar line as Torben pours out his soul. Diesel Breath starts with a hard driving Helicopters style rock and roll riff with a jamming harmonica. Rock and Roll Magnified style!!!!!! Interlude ends the CD and is a very Kyuss-like song. Great stuff from a promising new Danish band.
