Space Probe Taurus - "Insect City" (Slow Ride Records 2001, SR-03, 7")

From Aural Innovations #18 (January 2002)

It was a long wait but it finally arrived. This is Swedish band Space Probe Taurus' 1st vinyl release and represents very fuzzed out hard driving rock and roll! These tracks were recorded back in 1999 and it is good to see them finally out. The 7" begins with Insect City. A fast fuzzed guitar riff not unlike the early Monster Magnet singles but with a totally different production sound. Excellent song. Mescaline is next and remember to switch to 33 rpm. This song has a very cool sweeping wah fuzz wave that sounds very spaced. Dirt Club 72 comes from a movie soundtrack from 1972 and is the band's instrumental tribute to bikers.
