Korai Öröm - "Sound and Vision 2001" (Kora0006)
From Aural Innovations #19 (April 2002)
After 3 weeks of hard work in the studio, the band has made a fantastic follow up to Sound and Vision 2000. The CD contains 6 songs as well as a video compilation from the last European tour. The soundtrack to the second half of the video is the Reggae inspired song from Sound and Vision 2000 and was recorded at Stengade 30, København by me. The first thing you will notice when you play the first track is how different this CD is to any of the other Korai Öröm CDs, yet it is still distinctly them. The first track opens with an acoustic guitar and some whistling before the heavy percussion kicks in and the band take you away. The electronics and space guitar layer in later. The band have such fantastic rhythms on this CD and the grooves are all excellent. This band keeps getting better and better. They have really developed a special formula for making music. The band usually have a Reggae or Dub inspired song and this is no exception. If you have purchased the bands other releases, you won't be disappointed with this one. World-psychedelic-space rock at its best..
The vinyl version of Sound and Vision 2001 will be released on Burnt Hippie Recordings in early May and is limited to 500 copies. You can visit the Burnt Hippie web site at: http://www.burnthippie.dk/.
