Upland - s/t
(Jester Records 2002, rick 022)
From Aural Innovations #22 (January 2003)
Upland is a one man project from Norway. The CD is an experiment with sounds. What else can I say. They guy likes to fuck around with random beats and sounds and manipulate them and see what the hell happens. He attempts to make things pretty rhythmic and layering in some ambient like synths and sounds here and there but they are almost always in the background to the organized chaos. I have to say that I did enjoy this quite a lot but it is not easy listening music and has no commercial potential in anyway whatsoever. Far out.
