Loxley Beade - "Of Transient Thoughts And Iridescence"
(Nasoni Records 2004, 028, LP)
From Aural Innovations #30 (February 2005)
Loxley Beade is the brainchild of UK born singer songwriter Patrick OJ Moore. He and his band are based in Umstadt, Germany now and have played a few hundred gigs over their 7 year existence. This is their first LP and a great one it is. This is melodic mood rock with a cool psychedelic edge. It is presented in a brilliant gatefold sleeve with all the lyrics and insight into the themes behind the lyrics. The band play a number of cool instruments including mandolin, saz, flute and harmonica. The music is mostly pretty laid back with cool melodies and interesting song themes. The band have a few small improvised jams in a couple of tracks and some great psych guitar. This is a wonderful LP that I have enjoyed hearing many times since I got it. I think those who enjoy the wide scope of psychedelic music that Nasoni release will also enjoy it!
