Diesto - "Doomtown 7"
(Elastic Records 2004, ELS-022)

From Aural Innovations #32 (November 2005)

When a band describes themselves as a thunder trio you pretty much know you are not going to hear some quiet music and this is for sure the case. Diesto come from the Portland, Oregon music scene and create some pretty damn noisy and heavy stuff. This is very distorted and heavy shit with almost completely non-understandable vocals (described in the bio as paint peeling). The 8 tracks in 30 minutes are about all one can handle when the sound is as tough as you have here. The music is more influenced by punk in many ways than say doom metal. Ok.. I can hear the Melvins influence and a bit of Fudge Tunnel through it, but this is way nosier than either of those other bands.
