I have never heard of this project before but I immediately recognized the cool spoken word poetry of Dan McGuire, as we had worked together on the amazing Jamnation CD that he released. Anyway, this is the 2nd CD that this group has released and it includes Two members of the Minutemen (Hurley and Watt), David Thomas from Pere Ubu (vocals on 3 tracks), Baiza from Saccharine Trust and Dan McGuire.. It is quite a strange mixture of stuff. Swarm gives you a taste of what you will get but this track fades out in a sort of unfinished way.. The tracks come across as very stoned little pieces of jams (this was all improvised in the studio) that they later put these bizarre and sometimes quite funny and interesting spoken word pieces over the top.. I think musically, this is too strange to be of interest to many people but it was fun to hear a few times. Fans of the old SST records stuff will probably get a kick out of this though.
