Elton John - Coliseum, Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, NV 6/22/08
From Aural Innovations #40 (September 2008)
How amazing is it to get to see Elton John live at Caeser's Palace in Las Vegas! I was visiting my sister and got to go with my sister Melinda, my aunt Magi and Phil and his friend Bob. We had pretty cool seats but way up on the top balcony. Sound was amazing and he had a really cool band and show as well. He still plays with the original guitar player and drummer from 1970! I was surprised that it was so rocking as I thought it would be more piano and singing but no! They had special movies created for 75% of the songs and they were really really cool with some awesome vintage footage of Elton in the 70s! The band even did some jamming with extended versions of Pinball Wizard and Rocket Man, I think. I was a huge fan of Elton in the 70's and lost track of him after Rock of the Westies. He played all the hits that people expected to hear like Benny and the Jets (Opener), Daniel, Philadelphia Freedom, Funeral for a Friend, and many more. I had a ball.
