From Aural Innovations #40 (September 2008) Alan Davey is back with some of his buddies - Danny Faulkner (drums) and Lewis and Eamon O'Neill (Guitar). Eamon did not play on the first Pre-Med CD. There are also some special guests on a few tracks, like Steve Leigh, Jason (Hawkwind) and Martin Faulkner. The music is pretty high energy space rock with an obvious Hawkwind influence including a pretty cool version of the Demented Man. If you are a fan of the 80's Hawkwind stuff you will probably enjoy this quite a lot. I was hoping for something a bit more. It has great spacey synths and driving bass, but somehow the guitar parts are just often not that inventive or interesting. The artwork is really killer and reminds me of the Marillion covers from the 80's. Anyway, there is a lot of nice spacey music and some great moods are created. Fans of Hawkwind styled space rock will dig it.
