Radio Show #318: EARTHLING SOCIETY SPECIAL (October 25, 2013)

Earthling Society are a UK based band who formed in January 2004 with the intention of creating music influenced by their heroes Funkadelic, Ash Ra Tempel, Can, Amon Duul II, and Hawkwind. They have released seven albums since then, on the Nasoni and 4 Zero Record labels. And they had a vinyl 7" out on the Fruits de Mer Records label, as well as having made contributions to several Fruits de Mer compilations. As the band approach their tenth anniversary, I've put this show together to celebrate their music.

Radio Show #311: SPIRITS BURNING SPECIAL (June 20, 2013)

Spirits Burning is headed up by Don Falcone, who has been involved in numerous bands, including Spaceship Eyes, Fireclan, Quiet Celebration, Thessalonians, Astralfish, Grindlestone, Weird Biscuit Teatime, and was a founding member of Melting Euphoria. Spirits Burning is a project where Don collects contributions from musicians around the world to create something more than a collaboration, but, rather, what Don calls "a gathering in space". Since 1999 Don has released 10 Spirits Burning albums and one compilation, and throughout the show you will feel like you are hearing many different bands.

Aural Innovations would like to thank Don Falcone, Karen Anderson, Daevid Allen, Bridget Wishart, Scott Telles, Kev Ellis, Paul Williams, Steve Palmer, Thom The World Poet, and Roger Neville-Neil for their contributions, which are sprinkled throughout the show.

Radio Show #298: HUW LLOYD-LANGTON MEMORIAL TRIBUTE (December 9, 2012)

Huw Lloyd-Langton passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012, after a battle with cancer. Huw had been a member of Hawkwind at the very beginning, and then again at a couple points in their history. He also released several solo albums and with his Lloyd-Langton group. And he had his fingers in various other projects over the past decades. Throughout Hawkwind's history they have had MANY members. But in terms of real musicianship, Huw was among the best. He was an amazing guitarist, and a wonderful songwriter. So this show is a tribute, and farewell to Huw.

Radio Show #248: DJAM KARET Special (November 26, 2010)

Djam Karet are based in California and have a sizable discography that dates back to 1985. Djam Karet incorporate elements of Progressive Rock, Space Rock, Psychedelia, and Ambient-Soundscapes into their music, though ultimately defy categoriziation and are, in my opinion, one of the best damn ROCK bands on the planet.
