ACCUMULATOR + >>was invented by the German psychoanalyst-outlaw
Wilhelm Reich. Reich's "Orgone"
stood for a specific sort of (cosmic) energy, that was also supposed
to have a protective and healing effect against diseases - from
a simple cold to cancer. To achieve a better protection against
such diseases and strengthen ones vitality and immune system,
Reich built the Orgone Accumulator which is (very) basically a
box of prepared metal sheets.
As many other of his theories and inventions that he developed in his later years the O A was mostly laughed about - like the cloudbuster ================================>> with which Reich not only manipulated
the weather, atmosphere and the energy levels surrounding his
laboratory, named the 'Orgonon', but also used the accumulated
orgone energy to chase the UFO's (yes!) that were threatening
his own experiments.... Reactions to his works in the USA - to
where he emigrated - became increasingly hostile up to the point
that the FBI observed and finally imprisoned him - following a
persecution by the US Food and Drugs Authority. The judges not
only ordered the destruction of all Orgone Accumulator devices
but also banned Reich's later writings from being published.
Wilhelm Reich died, mentally destroyed, in 1957 in a US-state prison - without a chance for any sort of a fair trial. Whatever you may believe of Reich's theories - the ideas featured and the circumstances of their treatment by the US authoities are worth taking some time out to be read.
