After a brief holiday in inspiration-land, Census blaze back with this stunning new project. This is their 8th album, and it has to be one of their strongest. There's eighteen tracks, over seventy minutes of music and more than the odd eye opener. Tracks such as Capstone Dwellers, Goblindegook, Internal Eternal Development Intro and Begin Again, as well as some pretty dark and rather unsettling moments that can be found on the opening of God Ate The Queen's Mother, and several sections of Goblindegook. Great songs such as Sunlight Through Autumn Leaves, Puppet Masters, Mazed & Mystified and Shine break up the intentional chaos with aplomb. As is always the case with SP, their releases, especially COH, are bang on when it comes to production and balance. Some bands have a bad habit of banging on and preaching about certain things, and sure, COH like to drive the point home, but they do it with a clever balance of skill, dexterity and a set of damn fine musicians. A belter.
