Census Of Hallucinations - "Apparitions"

I just wanted to say how much I love Apparitions. It never leaves my backpack. I even wrote a short thing about it in my blog page. CLICK HERE to see it. Don't know that it will actually direct anyone toward your website, but it's worth a go. Take care.

I love this band
Current mood: happy
Category: Life

Amped on Turkish coffee and warped by psych. Been working in the yard with my daughter today and am loving the earth in the spring time. What a planet! With all the good things happening I just had to tell you all about the greatest deal in music by one of my favorite bands.

Census Of Hallucinations recently released the 4 CDR set entitled "Apparitions". This is sort of like what the COH box set would be if it were in a box. Instead it's 4 discs slid into a nice little plastic sleeve with laminate cards with track info for each disc. The tracks are remixed/remastered (kind of like remade/remodeled, eh?) from the 10 Census Of Hallucinations CDR's that were released in the last 5 years or so. With that kind of prolific output, you might think some of these releases are a bit tossed off but you couldn't be more wrong. Each one is an indyrock masterpiece in it's own way and Apparitions brings together the best tracks from each to create a sonic spaceflight taking you through psych, spacerock, ambient, folk, prog, pop, experimental, and good old fashioned song writing too. These guys (and girls) are wizards in the studio and they also have an indy ethic that is obviously engraved on their hearts. They are the real thing. And you get all this for 9.99 pounds (about 15 bucks U.S.) - I know this all seems like some phony add placed by the band but it isn't. I'm just really on fire for this record right now. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You can see the Pet Hippy website here: http://www.aural-innovations.com/pethippy/ You can also read a history of the band and the label here: http://aural-innovations.com/2004/july/sp01.html Did I mention that I love this band? Serious. Cheers.
