Paradox One - "Fragile Peace"

Wheat In The Fields (Phil Jackson)

Veldt to scrubs to fields to farms, hovels here, hovels there, growing like mushrooms in the dark near the park. A man tugs at the rudder, the barge corrects, saves my neck. Light lurches as the lantern swings, didn't feel a thing. Timbers whisper in the dark, the wind strokes the thatch, Walls settle and floors shift to stop the drift. It is not the current but the city's stench that pulls me in, in a tail spin to begin again, begin again. Faint shouts here and there, the call of beasts, the noise of feasts, an obscure clash pounds from the factory's machines, what does it mean? Railways anatomical like protruding veins, it's all insane. Cobbled mazes, cul-de-sacs and libraries fat with books with forgotten names, just play the game, it's always the same, begin again, begin again. Tower blocks, forgotten shops, sickness, debris and discarded mops, waiting for the chaos to begin as we begin again, begin again.

Darkest Night (Phil Jackson & Maxine Marten)

Do you, do you dear remember, it was late September when I had my darkest night, and you, dear, you came to my rescue, took my faith and made it new, stayed with me upon the hill till daybreak, Do you, do you, dear, remember, the night I left you at the station, I've lived with that day forever and hope that you forgive me, Where are you, where are you I wonder, have your dreams been cast asunder or have you moved on completely? Do you, do you ever think of how things might have been so different if I had not hesitated, if I had only waited.

Stay with me always
Stay with me now
You give me power
In my darkest hour

You seemed so far away
Yet you are near
One whispered call
You were by my side

Waiting At Airports (Phil Jackson)

You wait at the gate for another chance to wait, waiting in airports, the lady urges you to dally inside the airport galley, waiting in airports, waiting in airports, there's a further opportunity to queue that seems to be following you 'cos you're waiting in airports, waiting in airports...

All the Way (Maxine Marten)

Made the choice, here we go
Stepping out, we're in the show
Take our place on Earth's stage
Hallelujah, all the way

Decision done, it's time to run
Away from gloom, that leads to doom
Follow path, white light guides
Hallelujah, all the way

Beaming eyes look straight ahead
Sparkling life, the future shows
Time exists, and forever
Unleash the power, hear the song
Hallelujah, all the way

All the way, all the way, all the way, all the way

This Fragile Peace (Phil Jackson)

This fragile peace is hard to keep, within my mind the ferments roar, consciousness pours into a hideous vacuum of negativity and fear that is this fragile peace. This fragile peace keeps thoughts at bay, is paper thin, its silhouette unknowing in the darkness that demarcates this fragile peace. This fragile peace is not worth the fight so keep it so, so let it go and let torment reign, let nations rise up and start again to deny this fragile peace. This fragile peace will never last, within the past too many have tried only to be denied and consigned to eternal flame of guilt and blame that signifies this fragile peace. So take it whatever way you want it, resist like the oak or let it pass, it will not last THIS FRAGILE PEACE.

Ethereal Soldier (Maxine Marten)

Across eons of time
You have existed
And even before
Earth came to be

From privileged place
You did descend
And in humbled form
You set us free

Ethereal Soldier
Ethereal Soldier
