Terri~B - "Big Dictionary"

Terri is a core member of The Rabbit's Hat and Census Of Hallucinations as well as contributing to many of the other musical configurations in the Pet-Hippy roster. On this release I think she's really nailed down a nice balance between all the different styles she's known for - pop psych, experimental, spoken word, sultry soul (think Sade... albeit with a little Grace Slick attitude thrown in), and east Indian influences. Tim Jones (Neon, Rabbit's Hat, COH, etc.) provides some of the songwriting as well as his signature guitar sound (cross Hillage and Zappa but with the energy and abandon of Steve Jones). This is a difficult album to pin down. There is a lot of ground covered but it is all blended into a seamless experience and never sounds disjointed. Not many people crossing punk and new age, is there? This is the album Poly Styrene might have made if she continued recording after she saw the pink light! Er... don't quote me on that...
